A number of these questioned are answered directly in order

'How To Order & Options' section. Click HERE to go to the page.

1. Why should I buy from The Garden Seat?

We have a long history of supplying both the trade and retails markets in the UK and Worldwide since the early 1970's, so we really

know our business! We have a very successful 'Contract' arm of the business that currently supplies indoor, outdoor and poolside

furniture to Hotels, Leisure Parks, Restaurants, etc that include such names as Hilton Group, De Vere, Haven, Butlins, Warner,

Centre Parcs to name but a few. The products supplied to the Contract market are, as a rule, much more heavy duty and harder

wearing due to the specification required in that market where products will receive overwhelmingly more use than comparable

products in the Retail market. However we offer the same high quality products to retail customers though The Garden Seat.

2. Do you have a brochure?

We currently do not print a brochure. If you have any questions, would like other images, product advice, stock levels, etc,

please contact the sales office either via our free phone 08000 842 872 or by email.

3. How can I pay for my order?

We accept all debit and credit card except American Express. Alternatively we can accept cheques, bank transfer.

We are unable to accept cash on delivery as, although we have our own fleet of vans, we often use independent parcel

and pallet carriers for delivery.

4. What happens when I place an order?

When we receive an order, we will check stock and confirm when the delivery will take place. We normally hold good stock levels

but at certain times of the year, stock levels can become low. We will the arrange a mutually convenient time to deliver. As mentioned

above, our deliveries are through either ourselves or a third party carrier. All orders are subject to a 7 day 'cooling off period' whereby

orders can be cancelled and all monies refunded.

5. It there a charge for delivery?

All orders of £400.00 are deliver free of charge to mainland England and Wales. For orders under £400.00, there is a small charge

of £30.00. For orders outside of mainland England and Wales, please contact the sales office and we can advise costs.

6. Returns

The buyer may not cancel or return the order without the consent of the Seller.  However, if the cancellation or return of the order

is approved the Buyer will be subject to paying an administration and restocking charge of 20% or a minimum charge of £40.00

whichever is greater plus payment of all delivery/collection charges which are applicable.

7. Does your furniture require assembly?

Many of our products are supplied complete and assembled but certain items do require assembly as they are boxed and shipped in

KD (knocked down) format. This save on both storage and shipping charges both coming into and leaving our warehouse enabling products

to be offered with greater savings. All fittings required are included in the boxes and many have the appropriate allen key, spanners, etc.

All products that require assembly are marked with an assembly symbol. (See 'Key To Symbols' in How To Order & Options).

8. What exactly is 'Teak' and how do I care for my Teak furniture?

Teak is a tropical hardwood from South East Asia (commonly Indonesia). It is chosen as a premier hardwood as its properties include

being a strong, resilient, oil rich wood which is selected due to its grain density. It is a very stable wood that does not warp or rot.

Teak furniture is highly durable and will last for many years without preservatives or treatments. If untreated teak furniture will gradually

fade to a silvery grey colour. Over time, natural weathering occurs and small crack (called crazing) may appear. This is perfectly normal

and is caused by the expansion and contraction of the wood. To clean teak furniture either lightly sand the furniture or use warm soapy

water and a soft brush. If you wish the furniture to maintain the original honey colour, the furniture should be treated annually with teak

oil or a similar product. Prior to oiling the furniture should be cleaned as above and left to dry thoroughly.

9. What exactly is 'Hardwood' and how do I care for my Hardwood furniture?

Hardwood is a generic term for many woods with similar colour and characteristics, again mainly from South East Asia.

These woods include Keruing, Balau, Shorea, Meranti and Eucalyptus. Compared to soft woods (such as pine) these woods

have fairly dense grains, although not nearly as dense as teak. Although these woods contain certain oils, they do require re-oiling

on a fairly regular basis in order to stop them drying out once they have been exposed to the elements of wind, sun and rain.

Occasional light sanding prior to oiling may also be required to leave a smooth clean finish ready to treat.

Dirt can be removed in the same way as with teak - with mild soapy water and a soft brush.

10. How do I care for my Resin furniture?

Our Evolutif Resin furniture truly is a market leader. It is manufactured with a high chalk content which adds stability to the colours

ensuring that the white resin stays white and the colours do not fade. Evolutif furniture is UV resistant and is anti static. It should be

cleaned with a soft (non abrasive) cloth and mild soapy water. NEVER use chemicals or any abrasive items to clean your resin furniture.

A tip to remove difficult dirt / stains is to spray with a furniture polish and allow that to soak into the stain.

Our Alfresco range of resin furniture is a budget priced range, but has been chosen by us as it offers tremndous value for money.

Simply clean this furniture in exactly the same way as for the Evolutif resin furniture.

11. How do I care for my Stainless Steel furniture?

Our Stainless Steel furniture is manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel. This ensures that our products are suitable for outdoor use.

Similar to the cleaning of the woods above, warm soapy should be used to remove marks and dirt. Many DIY outlets sell Stainless

Steel cleaner which can help restore the original polished look.

12. How do I care for my Wicker furniture?

Our Wicker furniture is manufactured from a from polyethene synthetic wicker which is suitable for all types of outdoor use. The wicker is UV resistant and in many of the models (i.e.Atlantic Chair) have a steel wire running through the centre of the wicker to add strength and stabilty.

Clean with a power washer on a low setting or a hose pipe with a soft brush to remove the dirt.
